The 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT-R Pro has been launched in Australia, priced from $453,200 plus on-road costs. Sitting atop the GT range, the GT-R Pro is a track-focused weapon that’s capable of touring the Nurburgring in just over seven minutes. First deliveries of GT-R Pro arrive in September.
Sitting atop the local Mercedes range in pricing, only 750 of the Mercedes-AMG GT-R Pro will be offered globally – only 15 making their way to Australian shores. On top of the standard features of the standard GT-R, the 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT-R Pro adds a new AMG coil-over suspension system which offers more adjustability to tailor suspension set-up to a particular track. The front axle is fitted with a lightweight carbon-fibre adjustable torsion bar. The rear torsion bar is made of steel but is also adjustable, and also saves weight due to its hollow tube design.
The 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT-R Pro also comes as standard with the Track Package which comprises of a bolted steel roll cage with two rear braces and four-point safety harnesses for driver and front passenger (Standard three-point seatbelts are also standard).
3.6 seconds is all it takes for the GT-R Pro to get from 0-100km/h, this is due to a bi-turbo 4.0 litre V8 engine with 430kW and 700Nm of torque. All this power is sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.
The 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT-R Pro features Nappa leather upholstery, design seatbelts in a silver finish, privacy glass for the rear windows, a retractable cargo area cover and an AMG indoor car cover all as standard.
Pricing for the new Mercedes-AMG GT-R Pro starts at $453,200 plus on road costs and is available to order now. The AMG GT-R Pro’s main rivals are the Lamborghini Huracan Evo AWD at $459,441, the Ferrari F8 Tributo at $484,888 and the McLaren 600LT at $455,000.
