Australian pricing and specs for the 2022 Skoda Kamiq have been announced ahead of the car’s imminent arrival into dealerships. Thanks to global production restraints, the entry-level 85TSI 1.0L turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine is not available for the time being – the more powerful 110TSI 1.5L turbo petrol engine is the sole engine choice for now. Prices have risen $1,000, while the former top-spec Launch Edition is now called the Signature and it’s a permanent part of the range.

2021 Skoda Kamiq Monte Carlo

Pricing for the 2022 Skoda Kamiq range now starts at $32,990 drive away for the entry-level 110TSI Ambition. Aside from the larger engine, standard features are unchanged. This means that kit such as 18-inch alloy wheels, LED lighting (including scrolling rear indicators), auto lights and wipers, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry and start, an electric tailgate, an alarm, heated and auto-folding mirrors, an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, four USB-C ports, a digital driver’s display, an eight-speaker sound system, rear air vents, roof rails, rear privacy glass and an auto-dimming rear view mirror.

Safety kit includes seven airbags, auto emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian monitoring, lane assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality (for autos), a reversing camera, rear parking sensors with automatic braking, driver attention monitoring and tyre pressure monitoring.

Step up to the sporty-themed Kamiq Monte Carlo ($37,990 drive away) and you’re rewarded with black exterior styling, sports seats with red and black cloth trim, a panoramic glass roof, sports pedals, LED headlights with scrolling indicators, front fog and cornering lights and adaptive sports suspension.

The $4,300 Travel Pack for the Monte Carlo adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, heated front and rear seats, auto parking with front and rear parking sensors, a heated steering wheel with paddle shifters and a larger 9.2-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, inbuilt satellite navigation and a more powerful sound system.

The top-of-the-tree 2022 Skoda Kamiq is the Signature, which replaces the former Launch Edition. In addition to the Monte Carlo with the Travel Pack, the Signature adds half leather/suede upholstery with a 10-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat.

Individual options include metallic paint (from $550 to $1,100), a $1,300 panoramic roof is available for the Ambition and Signature (it’s standard on the Monte Carlo) and a $2,000 electric-releasing tow bar.

If you’re wanting kit such as blind-spot monitoring or auto parking for the entry-level Kamiq, that’s unfortunately no longer an option – the 2021 Kamiq offered two feature-packed option packs for even the entry-level car.

Great to see the Skoda Kamiq expanding options for the Australian market! The new features sound impressive, and I’m curious to see how it compares with other compact SUVs in terms of performance and value. Looking forward to test driving it!
