The 2021 Genesis G70 has been revealed with bold new styling and improved interior technology ahead of its Australian launch in the first half of next year. Following its big brothers’ footsteps, the facelifted G70 adopts the ‘Athletic Elegance’ design language that debuted in the all-new GV80 and G80 earlier this year.
As the Korean luxury brand’s sports sedan, the 2021 Genesis G70 wears the most aggressive iteration of the new family look yet. At the front, the 2021 GenesisG70 gets the new crest grill and distinctive ‘quad lamp’ headlights – which sweep towards the side of the body.
Moving to the side, the G70 misses out on the G80’s LED indicators that visually join the headlights and tail lights – instead following a minimalist approach with small air ducts behind the front wheel arches. At the back, the quad tail lights are said to be inspired by the wings of the Genesis logo. The rear diffuser and exhaust tips have also been revised for the facelift.
Inside, the most notable change is the new 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen mounted on top of the dash. Unlike the decidedly pedestrian 8.0-inch screen in the current G70, the new system will be controlled via Genesis’ bespoke operating system in a bid to offer a more premium experience. The new system supports over-the-air updates through WiFi, Valet mode and Apple CarPlay. The wireless charger has also been repositioned to cater to ever-growing smartphones.

Despite the current G70 only launching locally just over a year ago, the refreshed C-Class and 3 Series will arrive in the the first half of 2021. Pricing and specifications will be revealed closer to launch.
