The blurry photos you’re looking at are very likely our first glimpse at the facelifted 2024 Tesla Model Y, set to debut either later this year, or in 2025. Taken from a Chinese social media platform, the images give us our very first, and best look at the mysterious project “Juniper” Tesla Model Y update. As many had foreshadowed, the images confirm Tesla’s mid-size electric SUV will continue in the direction of the recently updated Tesla Model 3 “Highland” from a design point of view.
While there is no way of knowing if the photos are genuine, they do show the 2024 Tesla Model Y facelift featuring a refreshed exterior, with slimmer headlights, new alloy wheel designs and sleeker rear tail lights. It’s also likely the updated Model Y interior will feature the same changes the Model 3 just received earlier this year, with its new wrap around ambient lighting, improved aesthetics and touch screen.
The photos appear to be taken at the Tesla Shanghai Gigafactory where the Model Y is built and seem to be a credible indication of what buyers so eagerly waiting for the Model Y update can expect to receive. With the Model Y being one of Australia’s most popular vehicles in 2023, it’s safe to say the anticipation for the facelifted Model Y in 2024 is palpable.
Stay tuned to DiscoverAuto as we strive to learn more about the Model Y update in the weeks to come.
