Hyundai Australia has announced local pricing and specifications for the 2025 Hyundai Tucson, which is on sale now. Priced from $39,100 plus on-road costs, the updated range introduces hybrid power to Australian Tucson models for the first time, while there has also been styling and technological upgrades, as well as more standard equipment across the range. The former diesel option has been cut from the lineup, having been replaced with the hybrid, with the 2.0-litre and 1.6-litre turbo petrol engine options remaining – the latter now available with front-wheel drive.

“The fourth-generation Tucson has become one of the most popular models in the competitive Medium SUV segment – from young adults to families and empty-nesters – with more than 53,000 sold in Australia since its launch in 2021,” Hyundai Motor Company Australia Chief Executive Officer, Ted Lee said.

“Now, 2025 Tucson broadens the nameplate’s appeal with new Hybrid powertrains, a range of new and upgraded technologies, and updated styling inside and out,” he said.

Under the bonnet of the 2025 Hyundai Tucson range are the same 115kW 2.0-litre and 132kW 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine options as before, with the former 2.0-litre turbo-diesel option deleted from the range. The former engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, while the latter uses a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and both engines are available with front-wheel drive and the 1.6T is also available with all-wheel drive.

The big powertrain news, however, is that the Tucson hybrid is on sale locally for the first time, which combines the 1.6-litre turbo petrol engine with a 47.7kW electric motor for combined outputs of 172kW of power and 416Nm of torque. The hybrid is available with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, depending on the model, and uses a six-speed automatic transmission. The hybrid is rated at just 5.3L/100km on the combined cycle.
