The Cadillac Lyriq-V, a higher-performance version of the new Lyriq electric SUV, has been revealed and will be sold in Australia and New Zealand from early 2026. Using the same platform and dual-motor all-wheel drive set up as the regular Lyriq, the V ups the performance ante and features retuned suspension and Brembo brake callipers. It also ushers in more aggressive styling and dark colour themes to differentiate it from the regular Lyriq lineup.

“V-Series captures the spirit of Cadillac, embodying our relentless pursuit of engineering excellence through our racing and production vehicles,” said John Roth, vice president, Global Cadillac.

“Lyriq-V takes this commitment a step further in the EV era, pushing our performance pedigree of V-Series to new heights with a powerful, personalised and high-tech driving experience that fits perfectly into our customers’ lives.”

Showing off its performance mission, the Cadillac Lyriq-V gains new front and rear bumper designs, V-Series logos, a blacked-out grille and a black roof that’s standard equipment. Cadillac is offering a new ‘Magnus Metal Frost’ colour that will only be featured on the V-Series as well.

Inside the Lyriq-V is relatively unchanged compared to the regular Lyriq – electric side bolsters now feature for the seats and there are also V-Series logos and a new augmented reality dead-up display, but it’s otherwise regular Lyriq with the same panoramic roof, 23-speaker AKG sound system with Dolby Surround Sound and 33-inch touchscreen as the regular Lyriq. US models get GM’s Supercruise functionality too – Australian features are yet to be announced.

Producing 458kW of power and 880Nm of torque – up on the 388kW/610Nm outputs of the regular Lyriq in Australia – the Cadillac Lyriq-V is capable of a claimed 3.3-second 0-97km/h sprint time. That makes it the fastest acceleration Cadillac ever, and 0.1 seconds faster than the current CT5 Blackwing V8 sports sedan sold in North America.

In addition to more powerful electric motors, Cadillac has also upgraded the Lyriq-V’s chassis with new settings for the ‘Continuous Damping Control’, suspension and steering to account for the extra power. The ride height has been lowered, front Brembo brake callipers fitted and a new 22-inch wheel design has been fitted.

There are also new drive modes: a new Competition Mode for sportier driving and a V-Mode, which drivers can use to tune settings to their liking.

Using the same 102kWh battery as the other Lyriqs, the Lyriq-V is capable of travelling 458km on a charge. It takes 41 minutes to DC fast charge the Lyriq-V from a “low state of charge” to 80 per cent, according to the brand.

General Motors Australia New Zealand is yet to confirm Australian pricing and specifications for the Lyriq-V, but it’s priced from just shy of US$80,000 in its home market or around A$127,000 based on current exchange rates. The Lyriq-V will be released locally in early 2026.
