The 2021 Hyundai Venue has gone on sale in Australia armed with important standard equipment and model name changes in a bid to increase its appeal to small SUV buyers. The whole range now has equipment such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, as well as a sliding front centre armrest. Prices have increased by $500 as a result.
Hyundai Australia has renamed the entry level Venue Go to just ‘Venue’, which follows the recently updated i30 range. The base Venue has added wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as heated exterior mirrors, a sliding centre armrest, ‘premium’ cloth trim and 15-inch alloy wheels. Pricing has increased $500 to $20,690 plus on-road costs for the manual and $22,710 for the auto.
The mid-spec Active remains the Active and has added 17-inch alloy wheels and half-leather/cloth seating, as well as all the other changes from the entry-level model. The Active is priced from $22,620 plus on-road costs.
The top spec 2021 Hyundai Venue Elite has added keyless entry and start, as well as a sunroof as standard equipment as well. The Venue Elite is priced from $26,490 plus on-road costs.
Regardless of the model chosen, all 2021 Hyundai Venues come with a 90kW 1.6-litre petrol engine, which is matched to a six-speed manual (Venue and Active only) or a six-speed automatic transmission. All Venue models in Australia are front-wheel drive and are made in South Korea.
Competitors to the Hyundai Venue include other small SUVs such as the Mazda CX-3, Nissan Juke, Skoda Kamiq and Toyota Yaris Cross, though its pricing means it’ll be cross shopped against its i30 brother, as well as the Kia Cerato, Mazda 3, Toyota Corolla and so on.
