The 2021 Fiat 500 range has arrived in Australia with a revised model line up, new features and according the local branch of Stellantis, a superior value equation to last year’s model. It’s priced from $18,950 plus on-road costs.

“The Fiat 500 catches your eye for its charming, fun design. It’s like seeing a glimpse of Italy right here in Australia,” said Tom Noble, Director Marketing Communications, Fiat Australia.

“Having the Dolcevita join the Fiat 500 product range brings a chic product offering for those looking to enhance the romance of the quintessential Italian city get-about, in both a hatchback and convertible specification.”

Unlike the recently revealed next-generation 500, the updated Fiat 500 is not an all-new model but instead, a 2021 model year update that introduces new standard equipment such as auto lights and wipers and LED headlights.

The only drivetrain option for the 2021 Fiat 500 is a 51kW/108Nm 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that’s mated to a five-speed manual or a $2,000-optional five-speed automated ‘Dualogic’ manual transmission. Fiat claims that the 500 will use 4.9L/100km (the automated manual uses 4.8L/100km) of fuel on a combined cycle.

Standard kit on the 2021 Fiat 500 Lounge ($18,950 plus on-road costs) includes 15-inch alloy wheels, a 7.0-inch touchscreen with digital radio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, LED headlights, a leather steering wheel, heated mirrors, a speed limiter, rear parking sensors and 50/50-split rear seats.

The Dolcevita ($21,450) adds larger 16-inch alloy wheels, a glass roof, a body-coloured dashboard, front fog lights, ‘premium’ cloth trim, chrome exterior details, cruise control, single-zone climate control and auto lights and wipers. The Dolcevita convertible switches the hatch’s glass roof for an electric-folding roof.
