The 2021 Jeep Gladiator Sport S has been added to the Gladiator range in Australia. Sitting as the new entry point to the Gladiator range in Australia, the Sport S lowers the price of entry by $10,000 to $65,450 plus on-road costs. First deliveries of the Gladiator Sport S start later this month, and Jeep dealers will certainly be welcoming the new addition to the range.
“The Jeep Gladiator Sport S creates a new entry-level price point into the Jeep Gladiator range, without compromising on safety, technology and Jeep’s renowned off-road prowess,” said Guillaume Drelon, Jeep Australia Director, Brand & Product Strategy.
“Since its arrival in Australia, the Gladiator has been turning heads on our roads and by expanding the range to include the Sport S specification, even more Australians will be able to own the only open-air truck,” he continued.
Despite being the entry-level Gladiator, the 2021 Jeep Gladiator Sport S is still well equipped with features including 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic LED lighting including headlights and daytime running lights, a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a leather steering wheel, handbrake and gearknob, dual-zone climate control, cloth upholstery, a nine-speaker Alpine audio system, keyless entry and start and a three-piece removable hard top roof.
Safety equipment includes four airbags, auto emergency braking (AEB) with forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control with stop and go functionality, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, tyre pressure monitoring, front and rear parking sensors and a reversing camera.
The $10,000 spend to the Gladiator Overland adds larger 18-inch wheels, a larger 8.4-inch touchscreen with inbuilt navigation, leather trim with heated front seats, remote start, a body-coloured hard-top roof and fender flares.
Like upper Gladiator models, the Sport S is powered by a 209kW/347Nm 3.6-litre petrol V6 engine that’s mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and Jeep’s ‘Selec-Trac’ on-demand four-wheel drive system. The 3.0-litre V6 diesel offered overseas – and in the Grand Cherokee locally – is unfortunately off the table for Australia.
2021 Jeep Gladiator Sport S buyers can choose a $2,450 Comfort and Technology Group pack that adds some kit from the Gladiator Overland, such as the larger centre screen and remote start, as well as rear privacy glass, an alarm and an internal headliner for the roof.
A $2,950 Lifestyle Adventure Group pack adds a lockable rear under-seat storage bin, a roll-up tonneau cover, a spray-in tub liner, a wireless Bluetooth speaker, auxiliary switches, a 240-amp alternator and a 700-amp battery.
2021 Jeep Gladiator pricing (plus on-road costs):
