Skoda has added the third and final (for now) piece to its SUV equation: the 2021 Skoda Kamiq. Priced from $27,990 drive away, the Kamiq is the Skoda equivalent to the Volkswagen T-Cross and will be available initially in three different models: the 85TSI, 110TSI Monte Carlo and 110TSI Limited Edition. It will be the smallest SUV which the brand offers, sitting under the Karoq.
The 85TSI is powered by an 85kW/200Nm 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine through either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Skoda claims combined fuel consumption at between 5.0 and 5.1L/100km.
Standard features are plentiful with 18-inch alloy wheels, an electric tailgate, LED lighting, dual-zone climate control, digital dials, auto lights and wipers, an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, rear parking sensors with a reversing camera, an eight-speaker sound system, wireless phone charging, heated/auto-folding mirrors, keyless entry and start, an alarm and an auto-dimming rear mirror.
Standard safety tech includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with low-speed auto emergency braking, rear AEB, lane keep assist, multi-collision braking which automatically stops the car after an impact, driver fatigue monitoring and seven airbags.
Above the 85TSI sits the 110TSI Monte Carlo, which is priced at $36,990 drive away. The Monte Carlo adds a larger 110kW/250Nm 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with a seven-speed DSG, as well as a body kit and sports seats, corner lights, a panoramic glass roof, sports suspension with a electable driving modes, brushed aluminium pedals and black details such as badging and window surrounds.
The top-spec Kamiq for now is the 110TSI Limited Edition, which adds cornering lighting, half leather/suede upholstery with an electric driver’s seat, heated front and rear seats, a 9.2-inch touchscreen with inbuilt satellite navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay, an improved sound system, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and automatic parking with front and rear parking sensors.
Option packages are available for the 85TSI and Monte Carlo that add the extra equipment from the 110TSI Limited Edition. The $4,100 Driver Support Pack for the 85TSI adds the leather/suede upholstery with an electric driver’s seat, heated front and rear seats, auto parking with front and rear parking sensors and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.

The $4,300 Travel Pack for the Monte Carlo adds a combination of the above packages – heated front and seats, the larger centre screen with sat nav, wireless CarPlay, voice control, an upgraded sound system, paddle shifters, automatic parking and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.
Standalone options include a $1,300 panoramic roof for the 85TSI and Limited Edition (this is already standard on the Monte Carlo) and a $1,200 factory-fitted electric-folding towbar. Metallic paint ranges from $550 for ‘Moon White’, ‘Brilliant Silver’, ‘Quartz Grey’, ‘Race Blue’ and ‘Black Magic’ to $1,110 for the special ‘Velvet Red’.
