Czech manufacturer Skoda has officially confirmed that the 2021 Skoda Superb Sportline will make its way to Australia early next year, joining the Superb Scout already on sale. The 2021 Skoda Superb Sportline will be available in both sedan and wagon form with all models featuring the Volkswagen Group’s well known 2.0-litre turbo petrol four-cylinder engine producing 206kW and 350Nm.

The Scout will continue to feature a 200kW variant of the same engine, though with a petrol particulate filter (PPF) and a seven-speed dual-clutch auto – the Sportline does without the PPF and one extra gear.

Pricing for the 2021 Skoda Superb has increased by $3000 for the sedan and $3300 for the wagon, when compared to the previous Sportline on sale last year. The Superb Sportline sedan is priced from $60,390 plus on road costs, while the wagon is slightly dearer at $62,090 plus on road costs. The Scout, which is only offered as a wagon, starts at $61,990 plus on road costs.

Despite price rises, Skoda says that the 2021 Superb is better value than before thanks to the inclusion of more standard equipment. New kit to the Superb range includes keyless entry sensors on all four doors, puddle lamps that display the Skoda name, wireless Apple CarPlay smartphone mirroring, an updated infotainment system, the company’s new steering wheel design, blind-spot sensors that work up to 70 metres and predictive pedestrian detection.

The Superb Sportline has also gained the Scout’s scrolling rear indicators, Matrix LED headlights, Skoda’s ‘virtual cockpit’ digital dials and wireless phone charging.

The 2021 Skoda Superb range is due to launch in Australia in the first quarter of 2021. Expect to also see an entry-level 162TSI four-cylinder petrol variant, available in both sedan and wagon later in 2021, with pricing and specs to be announced at a later date.
