With first deliveries due in the first quarter of 2022, the 2022 Isuzu D-Max range has been announced for Australia with new standard equipment, new available models and – in the base model SX – a new smaller turbo-diesel engine option. Pricing has risen across the range, though Isuzu Ute Australia says that the prise rises have been offset by the extra standard kit.Â
“Preliminary specifications of the 2022 D-Max range are incredibly exciting; with a new engine, new models and updates fast-tracked to meet Australian customer demand. It’s the feedback from our customers that have been the driving force in introducing these updates and we are proud to expand on the proven D-Max recipe that has solidified its place in many Australian driveways,” said Isuzu Ute Australia Managing Director, Hiroyasu Sato.
Introduced only a year ago, the D-Max ute will offer six new models in its range, including a new LS-U+ variant, which sits just below the top-spec X-Terrain. The LS-M, LS-U and X-Terrain models also pick up more standard kit, while the entry-level D-Max Single Cab Chassis is available with a 110kW/350Nm 1.9-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic gearbox. This has lowered the D-Max’s entry price by $2,000 to $31,200 plus on-road costs. The 1.9L engine’s towing rating is 2,800kg braked for the manual and 3,000kg braked for the auto.
At the top of the range, the D-Max X-Terrain has picked up more standard equipment, including a tow bar receiver, red cabin stitching, piano black interior trimmings, an auto-dimming rear view mirror, heated seats and heated mirrors. The D-Max is now available for $65,990 plus on-oad costs, though a special introductory offer still exists of $62,990 drive away.
The LS-U+ is priced from $61,900 plus on-road costs and features black leather upholstery, an eight-way electric driver’s seat with lumbar adjustment, heated front seats, an auto-dimming rear view mirror, the aforementioned tow bar receiver, an under rail tub liner and keyless entry and start.Â
The LS-U below it has added the tow bar receiver, under tail tub liner, auto-dimming rear view mirror and keyless entry and start. It’s priced from $51,400 as a 4×2 crew cab – the 4×4 manual crew cab is $57,400 and the 4×4 auto is $59,400.
The LS-M below the LS-U has picked up rear parking sensors and is priced from $52,000 as a 4×4 manual. Aside from a small model alteration, the SX remains as before.
