Not long after its global debut, Australian pricing and specifications for the 2023 Nissan Qashqai have been announced ahead of its local arrival later in 2022. Priced at $33,890 plus on-road costs for the entry-level ST, the entry point to the Qashqai range has risen by $3,300. But, according to Nissan, that’s offset by the much longer equipment list across the range and a new turbocharged petrol engine in all models replacing the old naturally aspirated engine in the old Qashqai.
“The new Nissan Qashqai is a small SUV that’s big on what matters, and I can’t wait for Australians to climb behind the wheel,” says Adam Paterson, Managing Director Nissan Australia.
Under the bonnet of the 2023 Nissan Qashqai is a turbocharged 1.3-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that’s mated to a CVT automatic transmission. It makes 110kW of power and 250Nm of torque, which is 4kW and 50Nm more respectively than the 2.0-litre non-turbo engine it replaces. The Qashqai’s claimed fuel consumption has dropped to 6.1L/100km, down from 6.9L/100km of the old car – though a Qashqai hybrid dubbed ‘e-Power’ will be launching in 2023, promising combined fuel consumption around the 4.0L/100km mark.
Standard equipment on the entry-level 2023 Nissan Qashqai ST ($33,890 plus on-road costs) includes 17-inch alloy wheels, auto LED headlights, keyless entry and push button start, heated and auto-folding mirrors, air-conditioning, electric lumbar adjustment for the driver’s seat, an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a six-speaker sound system.
Safety kit is lengthy with seven airbags (including a front centre unit), auto emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian, cyclist and intersection assist, lane departure warning with steering assistance, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert (both with braking), auto rear braking, auto high beam, traffic sign recognition, tyre pressure monitoring, driver attention monitoring, rear parking sensors and a reversing camera.
Stepping up to the Qashqai ST+ ($37,890 +ORC) adds larger 18-inch wheels, a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and satellite navigation, LED front fog lights, auto wipers and a 360-degree parking camera with moving object detection.
The Qashqai ST-L ($42,190 +ORC) then adds Nissan’s ‘Pro-Pilot’ adaptive lane keeping system, an alarm, 19-inch wheels, Matrix LED headlights with LED indicators, leather upholstery with a heated leather steering wheel, heated front seats, an eight-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, wireless phone charging, wireless phone charging, dual-zone climate control, privacy glass, roof rails and an auto-dimming rear mirror.
Finally, the top-spec Qashqai Ti ($47,390) adds a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, a 10.8-inch colour heads-up display, a panoramic glass roof, quilted Nappa leather upholstery, a massaging driver’s seat with memory functionality, a 10-speaker Bose sound system, an electric tailgate with kick-to-open functionality semi-automatic parking, side parking sensors, a black headliner and a unique rear bumper finish.
Available colours for the 2023 Nissan Qashqai range are ‘Gun Metallic’, ‘Ceramic Grey’, ‘Platinum’, ‘Burgundy’, ‘Fuji Sunset Red’, ‘Ivory Pearl’, ‘Magnetic Blue’ and ‘Pearl Black’ and they cost is yet to be confirmed. On ST+ and above, certain colours are also available with a contrasting roof colour – ‘Ivory Pearl’, ‘Fuji Sunset Red’, ‘Ceramic Grey’ and ‘Magnetic Blue’ can be had with a black roof, while ‘Pearl Black’ can be had with a ‘Gun Metallic’ roof. The sole interior colour is black, regardless of model chosen.

Would love to get hands on but, here it is January ’23 and still cannot find a dealer that has a Ti Qashqai to see in the flesh. I am in a regional area but all nearby dealers have no variants to view.
