Initial Australian pricing and specifications for the 2024 Mini Countryman have been announced ahead of its arrival into Australian showrooms in the first quarter of 2024. Priced from $49,990 plus on-road costs for the entry-level C Core, the new Countryman’s price of entry has only risen by $1,140 over the previous model – that’s despite being much larger and better equipped than before. Both C and S models will be offered over four grades, with electric models due later in 2024.
“The Mini Countryman stands out in the compact SUV segment with its premium finish, sporty flair and signature Mini handling,” said Matt Schmidt, General Manager of Mini Australia and New Zealand.
“Now, with the new generation model, we are confident the Mini Countryman will offer even more appeal thanks to its innovative technology including a host of new driver assistant technologies, markedly increased versatility and an array of customisable options for our customers to choose from.
As detailed in our reveal article, the 2024 Mini Countryman has grown in size – it’s now 120mm longer at 4,433mm long, 22mm wider at 1,843mm, 101mm taller at 1,656mm and it has a 22mm longer wheelbase at 2,692mm. The boot now measures between 450-litres and 1,450L.
Under the bonnet are two turbocharged petrol engine options: a 115kW/230Nm 1.5-litre three-cylinder unit driving only the front wheels, or a larger 150kW/300Nm 2.0-litre unit driving all four wheels. Both engines are paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, as in the BMW X1 that it shares a platform with.
