Ahead of its arrival in July 2024, the Australian lineup for the 2024 Skoda Enyaq electric SUV has been outlined. At launch, two models will be offered: the Enyaq 85 and RS, which are the most powerful and longest-range versions available in Europe. In Australia, both the traditional SUV and new coupe bodystyles will be offered, and while pricing and equipment levels are yet to be confirmed, Skoda promises that the Enyaq will be well specified for our market.
Skoda Australia head of marketing and product Kieran Merrigan said the Enyaq 85 and Enyaq RS will arrive in Australia at the same time in July 2024.
“Both the 210kW and 250kW Enyaq are the most powerful Skoda models we have ever offered, while delivering among the longest electric vehicle driving range in the electric medium SUV segment,” Mr Merrigan said.
The 2024 Skoda Enyaq sits on the same ‘MEB’ platform as cars like the Volkswagen ID.3 and ID.4, Cupra Born and Audi Q4 e-tron, while it’s just been updated in Europe with more power and more range. In Australia will be two variants at launch: the entry-level Enyaq 85 and the higher-spec Enyaq RS with both variants using a 77kWh battery pack. The 85 is rear-wheel drive with a 210kW motor, while the RS adds a front-wheel motor for all-wheel drive and 250kW of power for a claimed 5.5 second 0-100km/h sprint.
The Enyaq offers a good driving range, with a claimed 576km on the WLTP cycle for the 85 coupe, 565km for the 85 wagon, 547km for the RS coupe and 541km for the RS wagon. The updated Enyaq can now charge faster at up to 175kW on a DC charger, which allows for a 10 to 80 per cent charge in as little as 28 minutes and there’s a new pre-heating function that can pre-heat the battery to optimal temperature for faster charging speeds.
Australian-spec 2024 Skoda Enyaq models will also feature new ‘4.0’ infotainment software that brings a completely redesigned user interface with a more intuitive design that makes it easier to control the car’s functions, according to Skoda.
The virtual instrument panel and head-up display also receive new graphics, and the voice assistant is improved.
The first deliveries of the 2024 Skoda Enyaq will arrive locally in July 2024, with local pricing and specifications due to be confirmed. Stay tuned to DiscoverAuto for the latest automotive news and reviews.
