The 2024 Tesla Model Y has undergone a series of price adjustments in Australia, ranging from $1,500 to $8500, along with subtle design enhancements for the popular electric SUV. With a starting price now at $63,900 before on-road costs, the base Model Y has hit its lowest price point ever in Australia following a $1,500 reduction. The mid-tier Model Y Long Range sees a more significant reduction of $5,500, now priced at $72,900 before on-road costs. Similarly, the flagship Model Y Performance starts at $82,900 before on-road costs, reflecting a big $8,500 decrease.
Updates for the 2024 Tesla Model Y include some small design changes, such as new black ‘Gemini’ wheel cover design available for both the base and Long Range variants. Additionally, three new optional exterior colors have been introduced.
Anticipation mounts for a comprehensive update to the Tesla Model Y, code-named ‘Juniper’, expected next year. This update promises upgrades akin to those seen in the recent Model 3 ‘Highland’ facelift.

- The flagship Model Y Performance boasts total outputs of 393kW and 639Nm, achieving a 0-100km/h time of 3.7 seconds.

- Model Y RWD: 455km driving range (WLTP laboratory test cycle).
- Model Y Long Range AWD: 533km driving range.

Model Y Dimensions:
The Tesla Model Y measures 4,751mm long, 2,129mm wide (or 1,978mm with folded mirrors) and 1,624mm tall, on a 2,890mm wheelbase.
The Model Y RWD weighs 1,909kg, while the Long Range tips the scales at 1,979kg, while the Performance is heavier again at 1,997kg.
Boot space is claimed at 854-litres with the rear seats up and including the ‘frunk’, increasing to 2,158L with the second-row seats folded.
Model Y Warranty and Servicing:
The 2024 Tesla Model Y in Australia is covered by a four year/80,000km warranty, while the battery is under warranty for eight years or 160,000km, whichever comes first. Meanwhile, the Model Y Long Range and Performance variants have their batteries covered for eight years or 192,000km.
Throughout the warranty period, Tesla Australia ensures that the battery maintains a minimum of 70 percent capacity. Due to its minimal moving parts, the Model Y requires little maintenance. However, Tesla recommends changing the air-conditioning filters every two years and conducting tyre tread, balance, and rotation checks every 20,000km.
