Ahead of local deliveries commencing soon, Australian pricing and specifications for the facelifted 2025 Genesis GV80 range have been announced, including pricing for the new coupe variant. Apparently to match customer preference, Genesis has reduced the GV80 lineup to just the petrol V6 engine and the formerly optional Luxury Package is now standard equipment as well. As a result, the entry point to the range has climbed to $130,000 plus on-road costs.
โSince its launch in 2020, GV80 has paved the way for our brandโs growing portfolio of luxury SUVs, establishing itself as our flagship model,โ Head of Genesis Motors Australia, Justin Douglass said.
โWith additional standard technology and features, refreshed styling and the progressive GV80 Coupe joining the range, 2025 GV80 continues as an alluring high-performance luxury offering in the marketplace,โ he said.
On the outside of the updated GV80 are new bumpers and wheel designs, while the grille now incorporates the company’s new ‘crest’ design. Inside is a new dashboard design with a huge new 27-inch OLED screen that covers both the infotainment – now with connected services – and driver’s displays, while the centre console has also been redesigned for greater practicality and it now incorporates new digital climate controls as well.
The pre-updated GV80’s Lexicon sound system has been replaced with a new 18-speaker Bang & Olufsen unit, while there’s also a new UV-C steriliser and a heated centre armrest. The previously optional Luxury Package – with features like Nappa leather upholstery, a fully digital driver’s display and so on – is now standard equipment across the GV80 range. According to Genesis, 95 per cent of buyers of the pre-updated model chose the option package despite its $10,500 pricetag.
Under the bonnet of the updated Genesis GV80 range is the same 279kW/530Nm 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged petrol V6 engine as the pre-updated model, which is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. However, unlike the pre-updated model, that is the only engine option now with the previously available 204kW 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel now unavailable and the 224kW 2.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that previously opened the range culled last year.
The 305kW/550Nm version of the same turbo V6 petrol engine – featuring a 48V supercharger – remains for left-hand drive markets only. Mechanically, the facelifted GV80 remains largely identical to the pre-updated model, though it has adopted a global suspension tune with unique settings for the coupe. The company has also updated the GV80’s active safety equipment with Highway Driving Assistant 2, an in-car camera and upgraded AEB, lane following assist and remote smart parking.
Genesis has also updated the GV80’s range of colours and trims with ‘Uyuni White’, ‘Vik Black’, ‘Savile Silver’, ‘Makalu Grey’, ‘Capri Blue’, ‘Mauna Red’, and the new ‘Storr Green’ and coupe-exclusive ‘Bering Blue’ – plus the $2,000-optional ‘Matterhorn White’, ‘Makalu Grey’ and new ‘Storr Green’ in matte finishes also available.
On the inside, all-black, dark green/brown, grey/brown, blue/white and green/beige upholstery options are available (all at no extra cost), with basalt, linen, olive ash, newspaper and coupe-exclusive real carbon fibre dashboard and door trims are also available.

- Coupe 5-seat: $136,000
