Ahead of order books opening in January 2025, Mazda Australia has announced local pricing and specifications for the 2025 Mazda MX-5 range. Priced from $43,020 plus on-road costs, the price of entry has climbed by $1,500 but the entry-level car has gained new standard equipment, while a new 35th Anniversary limited edition will also join the range to commemorate 35 years of Mazda’s iconic sports car like the recent 20th Anniversary edition of the Mazda6.
According to the company, “More than three decades after its debut, the illustrious 2025 Mazda MX-5 celebrates an extraordinary milestone with the commissioning of a limited-edition model, along with a handful of other updates for 2025.”
Based on the Roadster GT, the 35th Anniversary edition of the MX-5 range is limited to 50 units in Australia and will be available to order from January 2025. Available only with a six-speed manual transmission, the 35th Anniversary Edition adds Mazda’s new ‘Artisian Red’ colour that debuted on the Mazda6 20th Anniversary Edition and CX-90 SUV.
It also adds a light beige nappa leather interior with 35th anniversary logos on the seat headrests, beige carpeting, the ‘track’ setting for the stability control from the GT RS, 35th Anniversary badging, a beige roof and special 17-inch alloy wheels.
There have also been a few other changes to the Mazda MX-5 range, with the entry-level variant of the RF retractable fastback coupe range culled – which has increased RF pricing by almost $8,000 – and the entry-level Roadster has gained new equipment like suede and cloth upholstery, synthetic leather trim on the centre console and arm rests and body-coloured interior door trims.
