Kombi lovers rejoice! The 2025 Volkswagen ID. Buzz is officially on sale in Australia bringing some colour and life into the van segment. Priced from $79,990 plus on-road costs, the ID. Buzz is priced under the FBT threshold for those customers wanting to go through the novated lease route. On sale now are the ID. Buzz Cargo van and the ID. Buzz people mover, with the sportier GTX due in the first quarter of 2025.

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Director Ryan Davies said that the almost 7,000 expressions of customer interest had been received to date. “Many Australians have a deep emotional and historical connection with Volkswagen vans and people movers,” Mr Davies said. “We’re delighted to deliver the highly desirable BEV reinventions of those classics.

“Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ first fully electric range gives us a capability to supply families and fleets alike with a vehicle that has been highly anticipated.”

2025 Volkswagen ID. Buzz

The 2025 Volkswagen ID. Buzz family sits on the brands dedicated EV platform known as MEB. This platform is shared with various models by Volkswagen, Skoda, Audi and Cupra. The claimed range on the ID. Buzz is between 461km and 487km (WLTP). The final numbers for Australian models is yet to be confirmed. The Cargo and Pro short wheelbase have a battery capacity of 79kWh, whereas the Pro long wheelbase’s battery is 86kWh.

The 2025 Volkswagen ID. Buzz will be offered in three forms initially: the Cargo is the entry-point to the range and is a two-seater commercial cargo van while the Pro sits in the middle of the range and is a people mover with the option of either five- (short wheelbase) or seven-seats (long wheelbase). At the top of the range is the all-wheel drive sporty GTX, which is due in the first quarter of 2025.

2025 Volkswagen ID. Buzz

The ID. Buzz Cargo is equipped with a rear-mounted electric motor, making 210kW of power and 550Nm of torque, while the Pro increases the torque by 10Nm to 560Nm. The sporty GTX adds a front 80kW/134Nm motor for a combined output of 250kW.
