Not long after adding the S6 and S7 to its local range, the 2020 Audi A6 allroad has been launched in Australia. Priced from $109,500 plus on-road costs, the allroad will be offered locally in a single spec: the 45 TDI.
Set to be one of only two A6 wagon variants Audi offers in Australia, the A6 allroad will compete with other jacked-up wagons such as the Volvo V90 Cross Country and Mercedes-Benz E-Class All Terrain, as well as the less expensive Skoda Superb Scout and Subaru Outback.
Only offered in a single spec 45 TDI locally, the 2020 Audi A6 allroad comes with a 183kW/600Nm 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 engine. Audi claims a 0-100km/h sprint time of 6.5 seconds, and a combined fuel consumption rating of 6.6L/100km. Emissions are claimed at 174g/km. All-wheel drive is standard equipment, as is an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Audi lists the key dimensions of the A6 allroad at 4.05m long with a 2.93m long wheelbase, 1.5m tall and a width of 1.9m. Bootspace is claimed at 565-litres, which opens up to 1,680-litres with the rear seats folded. Audi claims 184mm of ground clearance – more than the 159mm of the E-Class All Terrain but less than the V90 Cross Country’s 210mm.
Audi Australia claims a $15,000 increase in overall value for money thanks to a lower price and more standard equipment.
Because it’s offered in one spec, the 2020 Audi A6 allroad is well equipped with adaptive air suspension, ‘Valcona’ leather upholstery, heated front sports seats with electric adjustment and memory functionality, LED interior and exterior lighting, tri-zone climate control, an electric bootlid with kick-to-open functionality, a 10.1-inch touchscreen with inbuilt satellite navigation, four USB ports, Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, wireless phone charging and 20-inch alloy wheels.
Safety equipment is well taken care of as well with adaptive cruise control with stop and go functionality, a 360-degree parking camera, blind-spot monitoring with front and rear cross-traffic alert, low- and high-speed automatic emergency braking with intersection assist, a heads-up display, an active bonnet to cushion pedestrians in the event of an accident and eight airbags.
One option package is available for the allroad: the $8,900 Premium Plus Pack. This adds larger 21-inch wheels, Matrix LED lighting with adaptive high beam, privacy glass, electric steering column adjustment, a panoramic roof, a Bang & Olufsen sound system, four-zone climate control and switchable LED interior lights with 30 colour options.
Heated rear seats are a standalone $900 option, as are $450 rear sun blinds, $750 fine grain birch interior trim, $2,200 metallic paint, $1,150 contrasting bumpers, the sunroof from the Premium Plus Pack ($4,300) and $750 black cloth headlining.
There are also two available service packages for the 2020 Audi A6 allroad: the $2,170 three-year/45,000km pack or five-years/75,000km at $3,300.
