Chery Australia has announced that the new Chery Tiggo 4 Pro light SUV will be launching locally in October, with local pricing confirmed to kick off from under $24,000 drive away. Competing against popular rivals such as the MG ZS, Mazda CX-3 and Toyota Yaris Cross, the Tiggo 4 Pro will be competing in one of the most popular segments when it launches.
Lewis Lu, Chief Executive Officer, Chery Australia stated “We are delighted to introduce the Tiggo 4 Pro to the Australian market.”
“This feature-packed compact SUV will complement the Chery range in Australia and is set to deliver an innovative and affordable motoring experience”.
The Tiggo 4 Pro’s interior will follow the Omoda 5
Under the bonnet of the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro is a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine making 108kW of power and 210Nm of torque, mated to a CVT automatic transmission.
The Tiggo 4 Pro reportedly measures 4,200mm long, 1,760mm wide, 1,570mm tall and rides on a 2,555mm long wheelbase – that makes it slightly bigger than a Yaris Cross, though smaller than a CX-3.
The Tiggo 4 Pro’s engine is shared with the Omoda 5, but in a lower tune
In Australia, the Tiggo 4 Pro will be offered in two models – Urban and Ultimate – with even the base model Urban featured with LED exterior lighting, a 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display and heated front seats.
According to Chery as well, an “impressive array” of active safety equipment will also be fitted as standard, including seven airbags.
